We’ve all had an emotional meltdown the day before packing on our flight for the next day, sometimes with defeat carrying 5 suitcases for check-in. Don’t worry I’ve been there too many times to count. If you’re like me, you’ll know the struggles it is to NOT bring everything because I mean you never know when you’ll need that toaster right? haha just kidding… all jokes aside, I have a hard time not bringing my whole skincare set because it’s like my little routine that’s important for me to integrate into my lifestyle while still abroad. Not only is your skincare ritual an importance to help your skin with looking and feeling it’s best everywhere you go, it’s also of importance to your “me” time where you can unwind and let go of your day while practicing your self-care routine~
So here’s a list of some of my skincare and beauty essentials that I have been bringing with me on my trips for the past 6 months, products that you’ll ACTUALLY use and not end up being dead weight to the extra kgs in your check-in baggage. Let’s get started…
SUNSCREEN
protect your beautiful face
Zinc oxide sunscreen is a MUST and always in my travel kit wherever I go. I’m a huge supporter of mineral-based sunscreen because I know it doesn’t contain harmful ingredients for myself and the oceans that I swim in. I travel a lot to tropical areas and only trust using zinc-based sunscreen in the waters that don’t kill the coral reefs nor seep into my pores while carrying nasties!! So if you are packing a sunscreen, I’d recommend Cyberderms Everyday Sun Whip SPF 25 for a clear base or Invisible Tinted Zinc Day Wear for a bb cream finish SPF 30 (both travel-friendly!)
Panpuri Organic
a journey to self-care & wellnes
Currently, my AM to PM beauty care routine is using Panpuri which is a new brand I came across In Bangkok during my visit to their spa. This line is completely organic and has been radiating and supplying my skin with nourishment during all the changing climates and routines I’ve been circulating into for the past 4 months. I use their Lotus Defence Brightening Serum in the morning after I cleanse which I then apply my sunscreen over top for protection. This treatment oil is lightweight on application making it an oh so comfortable start to your skincare ritual in the AM. This gem helps to illuminate, brightens and corrects skin tone with red algae and arbutin for a refined, radiant and smooth complexion. At night I use the Lotus Defence Face Treatment Oil after my cleanse and leave it at that! This oil absorbs in my skin like magic and leaving my skin non-stick or greasy after application. Packed with botanicals to aid in the reduction of wrinkles and to keep skin looking healthy, youthful, and shining bright like a star.
PATCHOLOGY x NIUCOCO
from head to toe
For my emergency freshen up Stache, this includes face masks and eye/lip patches. I love bringing a Patchology kit with me while traveling whenever I need more me time or to freshen up my skin and relax. I’ve been loving pathology’s masks and patches with a 5-minute use for a quick and easy treatment on the go! Knowing my skin gets super dry whenever I’m exposed to a change of climate, my skin needs a bit more love and care at this time… because even when you’re traveling you should always be looking after yourself – trust me, you’ll feel so much better knowing you have a self-care beauty routine to rejuvenate your skin.
My coconut oil skin care pick this February is NIUCOCO Renewing Hair Serum that I use after I give my hair a good wash in the shower. Finishing off with a little coco hair treatment, rubbing in between my palms then applying to my hair while still damp with a focus on my ends before I sleep.
WHAT’S IN MY BEAUTY BAG
less than 10 products
In my travel makeup bag, I keep it super simple with only a few products that I know I’ll use every day when I do feel like applying. It’s so easy to cave into temptation and bring your whole makeup bag, so here are my current staple makeup products that I have narrowed down to less than 10 products that I use every day…
Base:
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+
Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi
Vita Liberata Beauty Blur Skin Tone Optimiser
Directions; I mix all three creams together to create the shade suitable for my skin/ tan!
Face:
Faerie Organics highlighter powder *shade: Radiant Glow
Vita Liberta Trystal Minerals – Self Tanning Bronzer
NUDESTIX Nudies All Over Face Color Matte *shade: In The Nude
Eyes:
Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade *shade: Medium Brown
Bobbi Brown Long-wear Waterproof Eyeliner *shade: Black Smoke
So, the next time you’re packing for your trip ahead, try to narrow down your products to the ones you KNOW you’ll actually use on a daily basis! It takes time to figure out your necessities when traveling and to be honest, it’ll be a trial and error process until you figure out your definite YES and NO piles. It took me 4 years to figure out how to say no to a lot of things. So pack light, pack essentials, and pack smart when it comes to your skincare & beauty picks x
